Unlike other books …

Have you ever found yourself up at night trying desperately to sleep? Does your mind replay memories, causing sleep to escape you?  Are the memories worth recollecting or are they riddled with loss and despair? Consider these questions from the perspective of a youth-in-crisis or a youth struggling in the foster care system. Closure may be difficult, especially, if there are any traumas left behind.  Black Butterfly speaks to matters of the heart that are often overlooked; it speaks to the silence of loss, the fight for families, and love for foster children.

Unlike other books, Black Butterfly speaks to daily realities that foster children may be exposed to, from a place that is relatable. The clinical perspective is removed as connection to real issues is found through poetry that is realistic in prose and choral formation.  Black Butterfly can help youth-in-crisis see themselves as God sees them!
